Sarah Chandler entered the world of portrait photography from journalism and magazine editing. She is a storyteller at heart maintaining a curiosity and interest in people – who they are, where they come from, what they do, how and why they do what they do and what they wish to achieve.
"I began my media life as a journalist writing advertorial for magazines such as Go Camping, The Independent Retiree and Handyman. I progressed to Rural Press writing feature stories for Queensland Country Life and other agricultural publications. I had trained as a Commercial Pilot both in Australia and the USA so this aviation experience helped get me my next position as Editor of the AOPA (Australian Owners and Pilots Association) magazine. In this position I worked for Dick Smith who at the time was the president of the AOPA. A chapter at NSW Department of Agriculture and then a short stint with Agforce saw me return to my home state of Queensland.
I have dedicated myself to photography with a special interest in portraiture and travel photography for the past 10 years."
Sarah Chandler has shot for the Australian Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), Rural Press, New South Wales Department of Agriculture, Agforce, ABC, Australian Flying Magazine, Australian Polocrosse Magazine, Handyman, The Independent Retiree, Go Camping, Australian Open Garden Scheme, Trinity Consolidated, Meridian Ltd, AWX Group and others.
